arcelo Urizar was born in Paraná, Entre Ríos, Argentina, on October 19, 1963. He studied at the French School “Grand Bourg” in Buenos Aires (1974-1981) and studied Architecture and Urbanism at the University of Buenos Aires (UB) between 1983 and 1989. Since 1985, he has dedicated himself to architecture and interior projects. At the age of 21, he met the artist Carlos Paez Vilaró, marking his first steps in art (1984). Urizar studied Drawing and Painting at the studio of Uruguayan artist Hermegildo Sábat in San Telmo, Buenos Aires (1991-1993), and oil painting with Horacio Politi (2003-2004). In 1997, he moved to Balneário Camboriú, Santa Catarina , Brazil, continuing to create works in different media. Since 2001, he has participated in national and international exhibitions. In 2012, he was selected for the first Cow Parade in Santa Catarina and launched a line of rugs signed by him in limited edition throughout Brazil. In 2016, he benefited from the Balneário Camboriú Culture Incentive Law to publish the book “Uma Linha”, revealing 240 unpublished drawings from his 20-year career in Brazil. Urizar is the creator of the mural painting “Isadora and the Caracol” at CASACOR SC 2018 and received the award for Best Functional Commercial Project at CASACOR SC 2019, in addition to several cultural recognition awards in 2020. In 2021, he co-created the largest mural painting in the history of Santa Catarina, “Jardim de Lírios”, and participated in CASACOR SC from 2021 to 2023. In addition to his achievements in visual art, Urizar also writes literary works, including short stories, novels, poetry and screenplays (1996-2004), and actively participates in the Baba de Anjo Theater Company as an author , actor and screenwriter since 2005. He is also an active member of BSGI (Brazil Soka Gakkai Internacional), a UN-affiliated organization dedicated to promoting peace, culture and education since 2005.
