ntônio Carlos Nicolielo was born in Nova Europa, State of São Paulo, on February 11, 1948. He began his professional activity in Bauru, SP, where he studied Law, working as a reporter, writer and political cartoonist for the newspapers Folha do Povo, Jornal da Cidade and Diário de Bauru.
In 1970, he went to São Paulo, hired as a political cartoonist for the newspapers Diário de São Paulo and Diário da Noite, where he remained until 1975.
In 1971, he was also hired as Art Director of the Marketing Department of Banco Noroeste do Estado de São Paulo, which he helped to implement, taking care of the preparation of advertisements, institutional campaigns and graphic monitoring of all printed material…

Biography
Antônio Carlos Nicolielo was born in Nova Europa, State of São Paulo, on February 11, 1948.
He began his professional activity in Bauru, SP, where he studied Law, working as a reporter, writer and political cartoonist for the newspapers Folha do Povo, Jornal da Cidade and Diário de Bauru.
In 1970, he went to São Paulo, hired as a political cartoonist for the newspapers Diário de São Paulo and Diário da Noite, where he remained until 1975.In 1971, he was also hired as Art Director of the Marketing Department of Banco Noroeste do Estado de São Paulo, which he helped to implement, taking care of the preparation of advertisements, institutional campaigns and graphic monitoring of all printed material.He was art editor of Revista Noroeste, where he remained until 1985.
From 1974 to 1979 he was the cover artist and illustrator of Visão magazine, at the same time he illustrated the magazines Status, Viaje Bem and other institutional magazines.
From 1985 to 1992 he was a cartoonist and illustrator for the newspapers Folha de São Paulo and Folha da Tarde.
During 1986 he was a contributor to the weekly PASQUIM (Second phase) in Rio de Janeiro. He collaborated with most of the country’s newspapers and magazines.
He advised, in the field of art and visual programming, several companies in the capital of São Paulo: Empresa Limmadora Paulista, Construtora Buckmann and Editora Visão.
In 1980, he created audiovisuals for the Brazilian Media Congress, hired by the companies Visão, Block, Editora Abril, Liceu de Artes e Oficio.
He produced audiovisual for the 1983 International Seminar on Informatics.He was Art Director at the Press Office of the Housing Secretariat of the Government of the State of São Paulo, being art editor of the Habitação newspaper and coordinator responsible for the Secretariat’s printed material.
In 1985, he was chosen and awarded by a European Editorial Commission as one of the most important cartoonists in the world, along with Millór Fernandes (Skona Skant 170 Cartoonister Bra Brocker Sweden Publishing).
Abroad, he has published in the German magazine Pardon and in Caricature anthologies in Canada, Greece, Germany, Bulgaria and Poland.
Since 1988 he has been affiliated with the Cartoonist & Writers Syndicate and The New York Times Syndicate, both in New York (USA), which distribute his work to over 150 newspapers worldwide.
He was a political cartoonist for the Shopping News and DCI newspapers and Veja magazine until 1999.
He has works at the Museum of History in Bonn (Germany); House of Humor in Gabrovo (Bulgaria); Museum of American Life in Hartford (USA); Museum of Cairo (Egypt); Museum of Humor in Galicia (Spain).From 1999 to 2002, he was responsible for the magazine EcoPantanal, from Campo Grande, MS.He was a contributor to the website www.chargeonline.com.br with most Brazilian cartoonists.
Daily cartoonist for the newspapers Folha da Região de Araçatuba, Jornal da Cidade de Bauru, Jornal do Povo de Três Lagoas. He was a contributor to Futuros / Agronegócios magazine and the São Paulo Mercantil & Futuros Exchange. He taught a course on Universal History of Caricature at Fundação Educacional de Bauru (currently UNESP), as well as gave lectures on the subject at several Brazilian universities.
He has given university extension courses at the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul, Faculty of Architecture of Mogi das Cruzes, SESC and SENAC in São Paulo.
