Francesca Sganzerla

Born in Italy, I grew up and lived in many different countries (Nigeria, Norway, Vietnam, Egypt, USA, and Mexico), absorbing the energy of each place. Since 2002 I live and work in Zurich, Switzerland.

With their thick texture subsequently scratched, my paintings seek to reveal the layering of time. They are like walls on which the signs and traces of history have been accumulating layer after layer, revealing the transient nature of time.
